Women for Change Grant Program – Now Open
The Women for Change grant program is delivered by the Bass Coast Community Foundation to encourage eligible organisations to increase the number of projects and initiatives that improve the lives and wellbeing of women and girls who live in the Bass Coast.
It is funded by donations from the community and through distributions from the Foundation’s sub funds.
Grants open: 8th March 2022
Grants close: 6th April 2022
The Women for Change grant program for 2022 is driven to improve the data showing:
- Half of local women in Bass Coast have a weekly income less than $500 – which, taking into account current housing affordability, barely covers weekly rental payments.
- One third of local women live alone or in single parent households – meaning there are many women here in our own community doing it very tough.
- Helping women access work, education and community life has a flow on effect as they are much more likely to invest in their families – so by helping local women you are also helping to build happy, healthy and thriving families.
WHAT WOMEN FOR CHANGE WILL FUND?
Initiatives that take action to improve the situation for women and that meet the program objectives below:
- Encourage women and girls to increase their connection and participation in community activities and lifelong learning;
- Promote collaboration with organisations, groups and/or service providers to address issues affecting women in our community.
